The four-year-old, award-winning liquor store, Molly’s Spirits, is set to open its second location. Molly’s Spirits South (8557 E Arapahoe Rd., Unit A, Greenwood Village, CO 80112) will open in the Arapahoe Marketplace Shopping Center in Greenwood Village, Colo. in the fourth quarter of 2019.
“With the passage of the historic Senate Bill 16-197, we are now able to move forward with a second location,” said Rufus Nagel, owner of Molly’s Spirits. “The compromise of slow additions of stores – two store locations allowed this year and one new location every five years after that – allows existing operators like us to grow, rather than large out-of-state chains to corner the entire market. Our plan is to grow our footprint as allowed by law, so we’ll be looking ahead for a third location to open in five years.”
Molly’s South is 25,000 sq ft and will feature a large outdoor patio event space and Liquid Lounge, both of which will host one-of-a-kind tastings, special events and release parties in collaboration with craft Colorado beverage purveyors. The shop will house 61 cooler doors filled with beer, cider and wine.
Molly’s South is aiming to offer the largest selection of chilled wine in Colorado, responding to customer feedback that they are purchasing for consumption that day. Like the original Molly’s Spirits, which offers more than 12,000 products, Molly’s South will offer local products in addition to stocking national brands. Both locations will focus on offerings based on customer demand and feedback.
Molly’s Spirits has cultivated its brand into much more than a local liquor shop. The shop is an industry leader with innovative collaborations with local breweries, distilleries and wineries, creating beverages that are only available at Molly’s or Molly’s sponsored events like Truck Shop and Uncorked at The Denver Art Museum.
Focusing on customer experience, Molly’s South will continue the brand’s charitable efforts, staffing knowledgeable sales employees, hosting unique collaboration projects with local Colorado vendors and offering hard-to-find products.
“One of the reasons we picked the location is because the Arapahoe Marketplace Shopping Center aligns with our focus on the outdoor Colorado lifestyle. The center has a lot of vitality and emphasizes walkability and a reduction of car traffic,” said Nagel.
The location will join Sprouts Farmers Market, Torchy’s Tacos, Modern Market Eatery and a variety of other lifestyle and fast-casual eating options in the Arapahoe Marketplace Shopping Center. Additional details about the store opening will be released at a later date.
